As I mentioned here, we are slowly but surely updating our bedroom since getting a new california king mattress. It’s been hard to nail down the look since we rent and I don’t want to spend a lot on decor/furniture that may not work long-term. We started with a new upholstered bed from One Kings Lane and finally settled on white sheets and a dark navy linen duvet from West Elm.
First, the red pillow needs to go (along with the mismatched side tables)! I’ve been looking around for the right pattern to bring in and finally ordered this Ferm Living pillow. I love the long shape, the pattern and the colors – can’t wait for it to arrive! For lighting, we don’t have a lot of space on both sides of the bed for lamps (we currently have one on my side, but there is no room on Dan’s due to the window), so hanging pendants will be a great solution. I’ve had my eye on onefortythree for awhile, and I finally have an excuse to make a purchase with these brass hanging lamp pendants.
It’s been hard for us to pull the trigger on bedroom decor when we really don’t spend that much waking time in there (and bedroom stuff is surprisingly expensive), but I am excited for our room to feel like an actual styled room and not a random hodgepodge of stuff. I put my handy dandy powerpoint skills to use to show you what I envision the final result looking like:
Obviously, the side tables need to be addressed along with art, but I’m liking where this is going. Also, how gorgeous is everything from ferm? Here is just a small sampling of their goods:
I really love their simple wood frames for their posters, and their kids stuff is really cute too.
