Hot Town, Summer in the City

Geraniums in our flower boxes

The past few weeks have been so good. With Memorial Day last week, it’s finally (un)officially summer, and the weather is cooperating. We have spent so much time outside, just soaking in the sun and enjoying this beautiful city. Dan and I both took off Tuesday last week after Memorial Day, so we had a 4-day weekend to simply relax and do what we wanted, which involved a BBQ with friends, laying out and reading by the lake, going on a run and seeing the new X-Men movie.  It was just what the dr. ordered. Warning, photo heavy post ahead!

^^Diversey Harbor. After lunch at Del Seoul (def. check it out), we met up with friends and hung out by the lake then had ice cream at Bobtail (the coffee toffee flavor was the bomb):

This weekend was shorter, but just as sun-filled. My friend Rachel found about this free yoga class in Grant Park called Wanderlust. Please check and see if there will be a festival in your city; it was so cool!

^^I work in that tall building behind the park and was very glad to be outside of it this weekend :) Speaking of work, on Thursday night I went to my coworkers place for some authentic Vietnamese food – it was delicious (thanks Tam!):

After yoga in the city, we went to Butterfly Sushi in the West Loop and sat outside to enjoy the beautiful evening:

To cap off the weekend, we ran the Run for the Zoo 5k. We try to do it every year if we can (this was our fourth time). It’s always the first Sunday in June and is a great kick-off to summer. The loop goes through gorgeous Lincoln Park along the water and through the zoo:allie run for the zoo 2014 dan and allie run for the zoo 2014

Summer is the BEST, don’t you think?  Anyway, to cap off this already long post, here are some links from around the web lately, for your enjoyment:

Don’t forget about our trip to Millenium park or your new pants! I also think we should take more pics of our food. Del Soeul deserved some serious real estate on the blog. It was flippin’ delishous!
