Who Wore it Best?
Last weekend Dan and I went to my friend Mike’s wedding – it had so many personal touches that perfectly showcased Mike and Carrie’s personalities, not to mention a great DJ with lots of dancing and a polaroid photo album! It was especially fun for me because I have so many fond memories of Mike from middle school and high school, whether he was randomly stopping by to hang out with my mom and me, lifeguarding at the neighborhood pool, or going to one of several high school dances together where he never failed to dress in some sort of awesome costume. I remember going to Yuletide with him and his parents one year and getting White Castle after, and I even interned with his mom my senior year for school credit. There is something really sweet about knowing someone from childhood and seeing them get married and just become who they were meant to be. Mike and Carrie are an awesome couple, and I hope they move to Chicago soon (hint hint!). There were other old friends there as well that I had lost touch with, so it was fun to catch up with everyone.
Anyway, to the point of this post, I got a new dress for the occasion, and as I was perusing the latest issue of Us Weekly, I noticed a familiar dress on the one and only DJ Tanner! (Who didn’t love Full House?)
Unfortunately I didn’t get a full shot of myself, but I think you all should know I hemmed the dress 2 inches to be less maxi, more mid, and wore white strappy sandals (on super sale at Aldo) and a gold necklace. I am not a fan of the closed toe shoes she paired with this dress, and the high neckline calls for some jewelry! The back has an opening, so I wore a light coral bandeau under for a fun pop.
So there you go! Moving on, the venue Mike and Carrie chose is called Prairie Productions and is on Randolph St. in the West loop. It is really pretty, has a nice patio area and the food was amazing. I would highly recommend it for any Chicago couples!
