Welcome Brunch & Wine Tasting

DSC_0356As I wrap up my self-proclaimed wedding week, the final activity of our destination wedding weekend was the Friday morning brunch followed by wine tasting.  We had our room block at The Silverado Resort, which was a perfect spot for our guests. It is a beautiful resort with lots to do (golf, spa, tennis, near wineries, etc.), had great rates, and I also loved that the rooms are more like condos. You can do smaller 1-2 person rooms and up to 3 bedroom condos, which was really fun. Anyway, as part of our contract, we got one event there and decided to do a welcome brunch, since we figured most people would have arrived by then and it would be a fun way to kick off the weekend. I preferred this over a Friday evening occasion for a few reasons: A) I wanted to be well rested on Saturday, B) We knew people would go wine tasting that day and having an evening event would mean people would have to get back earlier and C) We thought people may want to take that time to try out some of the great restaurants in Napa for dinner.

Because the brunch was just casual, I didn’t put any pressure on myself to plan it (my mom took the reins on this one – thanks mom!) and it was a perfect, no stress morning and a great way to connect with all our guests before the wedding. It was outside on a beautiful morning, there were bloody mary’s and mimosas and lots of good food. Perfect! After the brunch, people split up into groups and did wine tasting  or explored on their own.

This day was so memorable and the perfect way to spend our pre-wedding day! We went to Domaine Carneros, Merryvale and Silver Oak for our tastings and they were all great!

xoxo
